I was wondering is there any alternative to pegler valves and plumbing fittings which are just as good but cheaper. Is tesla a good brand? Was looking at full bore isolation valves.

It's a bit of a lottery these days aj, even Pegler's stuff which was once a byword in plumbing for top quality is not as it once was.
I don't remember ever fitting any Tesla products so unable to comment.
I would just look for the WRAS approved mark then at least you know it's a product of some kind of worth.
