Hello
Next job is the bathroom. All tiles off, bath is staying in place, new floating sink unit & taps, re tile walls.
Around the shower area (in bath) I’m going to use the Mapei shower waterproof kit.
I never used one but will do it.
Anyone used a water kit & can give any do’s & dont’s please?
Cheers all

If you’re tiling your Shower over the Bath, strip The wall & fit cement based board. Not the cheap stuff, the 12.5mm solid board.
The Showers I’ve done in Puller Towers all have cement board & then tiled. I never get mould on the Grout or Seals. It’s also a firm base to tile on. See Grout is porous & the board behind the Tiles gets wet.
I’d also advise you to fit a Bath/Shower mixer on the Bath. It minimises the holes in the Tiles over the Bath. The Bar Mixer types are as cheap as chips & very reliable👍👍

No I don’t want a bath mixer. I’ve got a Mira shower already that I’ll keep. There’s also no room for cement board so I’ll just be putting the waterproof stuff on the walls which are block & plaster. I’d use cement board if there was room.
