I don't think that I've ever seen a brass screw in any other form than slotted (for screwing down sanitary ware).

That's dead right. You'd have great fun with the other type flying through and wrecking a toilet with someone using an impact driver!!

Hi all. Crossed the plastic thread on the fill valve with the metal thread on the flexi ? no bother if you've no spares. Get the valve back out of the cistern, Hacksaw off the couple of mil damaged thread, sand/file the cut face flat, wash off swarf, go again. Common sense really but saved my bacon last night (6pm Friday, merchants shut, phew!)

Ok, here's another, run out of drain tracing die? Most customers will have some food die in the kitchen somewhere. Even if theyre not into cooking / no ffod die - EVERY customer has a pint of milk in the fridge, bung that down! (Even soya milk works!!) If the house is unoccupied run down the nearest corner shop and buy a pint. (Dont foget to save a splash for your cuppa)

Nice one dick, here's an idea for a possible tip / trick / hack. Does anyone know if you can squeeze off plastics other than mdpe? I have often wondered but never tried it. (Prob wouldn't work on lcs(lol)) I suppose it is not whether you can squeeze off other plastics but rather are they useable after... Maybe a subject for a video?

A Pex can be squeezed as it has no barrier, but most PF pipes have a barrier & it would never go back to its original shape.

So I phoned hep/ wavins tech help and they said "no, you can't possibly squeeze off our pipes" so I did it anyway and they look fine, a bit bruised but not seriously damaged . Looks like I cant post pictures...

Here’s another one, like all the best ones - simple & cheap👍
A Rubble Sack will hold a lot of contained water, so fold one up & stick it in your Tool Bag/Box👍
