My sister in law has a cast iron bath which she has just had refinished. She can get water out of the cold tap and the shower attachement, but nothing from the hot tap even though it will turn... Any ideas please before she calls someone out? This is the tap...

if someone has had the hot water off to do work, then the valve in the cylinder cupboard may have siezed shut. its quite common for that to happen, another possibility is that the tank above the cylinder ( possibly in the attic) has run dry,

so the bath tap would seem to be the problem, could be the seat of the tap is stuck in the inlet, some taps have a 'floating' seat that can stick, It will need to be taken apart and freed off, if its that,

bath panels need to come off and that's a crowbar job she says, but thanks you all for your help and assistance....she's a girl who can do, so hopefully it will be sorted tomorrow
