How that fitted please?
With a compression 15mm 'T'?

I've had loads of issues like this would you not change the stopcock first and trying before putting an arrestor?

Never fitted one but I thought they'd have some kind of diaphragm in there so the water doesn't absorb the air.

the posh ones have a piston inside, but the principle is the same, if your using just pipe it will need to stand upright,

If i was to make one, lets say on 15mm would the upright part be 22mm or 15? How long should upright be.

as much pipe as you can fit in , if you only have 6 inch or so use 22mm, its just an air cushion and the more air you have the better buffer, all the piston does is seal the pipe better so the air won't escape, if your empty pipe is up wards the air can't go anywhere, It was common place in the 80's to used 'dead legs' to stop water hammer, but then some reg stopped us using them as they can habour bacteria . now the sell them FFS,
