What a busy lad you've been today PB. I've been on a rather boring asbestos refresher course Looks like there is plenty of room to get to those PRV as well, good job. our place is looking into silcone sealant having asbestos in! How strange that you should say that EF because just before the course started the instructor said the next big thing will be silicon, I don't think that many heard the comment so nobody asked him to elaborate on it, but he definitely said it!

when i working in a prison in 1996 we were not allowed to use silicone on anything, Apparently the inmates would pick it out and eat it, this would cause them to have a serious reaction and they'd need hospital attention, thus giving them a change of scenery for a couple of weeks, I wonder if its connected,,

Well there's one for the books - that's plenty people ingesting Asbestos without knowing as they wet their finger for the smooth silk like finish!

They are also saying some putty around a window has it in, we cant drill into artex anymore...

You should be OK to drink or even eat an asbestos sandwich battle.
It's the very fine particles (that you can't even see) that get taken into your lungs that do the damage!
Can't you tell that I'm fresh from the course !
NB The fibre glass question came up too - apparently the antibodies in your body can fold these up and dispose of them, but because the asbestos fibre won't fold the anti body can't get rid of it so it dies trying.

I've seen on a few jobs I 've been to the chemist certificate posted on the notice board (with the insurance certs etc) confirming if the product on the ceiling is asbestos free!

Thats great to hear ive breath loads of fibre glass insulation in and worry about it, in the light you can see the hook like shape

yes mate, I did my gas here before i threw the towel in, they are good lads who run it, www.gas-training.co.uk/ they're at Chorley not too far from you,, Thanks for the recommendation, Tom. Did the course a couple of weeks back. There were six of us but I was the only one who wasn't just reapplying so I had a few more papers to do. Pretty intense day but everyone passed. Save
