Hi Guy's
Been to job today need to repair poor operating cold tap ....up into loft blank off cold feed came down unscrewed top small cap
then undone retaining screw now try to remove the control cross head ....pull off NO LUCK
soaked it WD40 left for a while tried to pull off again NO LUCK
Then tried to tap sharply underneath in upwards motion NO LUCK
then tried to shock pull it off by,, partly screwing back in retaining screw,, then with a steel rod on the head of the screw
Sharply hit the rod while holding the control head trying to pull in an upward motion NO F>>ING LUCK
Have you guy's got any advise or suggestions how to remove so I can then service the valve
the only thing I can think off now is new Taps ....But there's no joy there as tiled in bath panel and really close to basin
as I am not the smallest of plumbers....
Please see attached photo's
Sorry but my photo's are too big 3.8mb can any body help me post them please............

Hello Astra, I've been in that situation a few times and when all else fails, get out the blow torch, heat it up and try tapping from underneath, if that won,t move, your fucked mate, its new taps time,

If you undo the chrome shroud you might get a thin spanner on the nut, once its out you can get more tools on the bugger,

If you have to do a lot of tap repairs in your job astra,I recomend the easy tap splitter get it from same place as tap head removed. It cracks stubben tap valves like a piece of piss
