Hi Guys
We have a semi ancient Alpha CB28 combi that is refusing to heat just water. When the heating is on the water is barely warm unless I turn the tap down to a mere trickle...
Would appreciate knowing what it is likely to be, before I phone my agent.
Ta muchly

hello Vixen, nice to see you over here, it could be a range of things from a simple diapram to the heat exchanger blocked,

don't know if this means anything but the hall rad "clonks" a lot. I've bled the system, reset the boiler etc, also it has inhibitor put in about 6 months ago cos it was kettling.

yes that could indicate the heat exchanger is furred up, if the landlords a decent chap he might put a new boiler in,

lol, the alarm keeps going off for no reason, when its not set. Like everything here it's pretty ancient as well. Had a new battery fitted about a year ago.

Well my thoughts would be the tamper circuit - what fault code shows? Since the new battery has been fitted I would look towards the cover lid if it's only started doing it since that replacement.

it's that old it doesn't have a digi display, just a number of neons, so no fault code. But every light lit up like Blackpool
