I'm sure it will be a very enjoyable challenge Endfeed. I've not installed many but I do follow these simple but effective steps:-
First read the instruction manual completely. Study the installation diagramas it will give you a good idea about how the system should look after it has been installed. Lay out all of the materials that you’ll need to work with and familiarise yourself with all of them. Make sure that you have all the required components at place and also understand what each one does before your use it. Any exhaust nuts screws or flanges are coated with antiseize (copper slip) to allow future repairs.

there's a lot of bullshit in those manuals, Its a big con, they want you to check the gas rate, gas pressure, air flow, etc etc, thats just so they can justify the cost of the courses, they make mountains out of molehills, The boiler is factory set and tested in lab conditions at the place its assembled, fucking about with the adjustments on the pcb is not needed unless you're installing in a situation outside the perimeters of the allowable distances of the boiler, So Fit it,fill it,gas it, wire it up and if its not working, check your work first and if its done right, call out the maker on the warrantee, ( very rare for that to happen), Its happened to me once, the man came out and fixed it, a faulty water pressure sensor,

Looking forward to the pictures EF.
I've had my Duo Tech 18 months now without any problems.
Like tom said it's a very easy to install boiler.
You can get a extra kit to extend it off the wall if you need to take the pipes behind it.
Tappy,

thats a good point crowsfoot and well worth mentioning about the fixing kit to enable the pipes to run up the back of the boiler, If you don't use this kit and the pipes are going upwards, It means running pipes around the boiler which can be time consuming, tricky and unsightly, the fixing kit makes things a lot neater,

baxi do one specialty for their boilers, they are easy to fit and easy to use, its a dial type clock fixed where ever you want it, then it sends a radio controlled message to the boiler, so its easy to wire if a bit expensive, a cheaper one is the salus remote control, works good, I've fitted loads, no probs, I'll dig you out a few links tomorrow endfeed, I'm a bit tired and ready for a kip just now,, P8pACUU_eHpEO2kJIX4Cbedtime
