the easiest way is to put another strap boss on and a blank in the inlet, But why its Christmas I'll do a video tomorrow on how to blank it with a spare bit of soilpipe,

This may sound like a bodgeit repair, but it works and I've done it a errrr.... few times! Cut a small piece of half round guttering enough to cover over the hole and apply a good coating of solvent weld cement to it, place it over the hole in the soil pipe and secure with 3 pieces of wire (copper wire is best). Got a feeling I've given away toms new year tip now! "Happy New Year brew cabiners".

Will another section of soil pipe cut to a similar shape as your half round gutter be just as good? Doing exactly this tomorrow.

gutter is better because its thinner so won't try to ' stand up' as much, When your pushing down on it to reform it to the differant dia shape, its trying to fight back to its original diameter shape, That will cause gaps betwwen the surfaces that will lead to leaks,
