I see all these plumbers now are trying to make their solder joints look like they are not soldered, what the fuck is that all about.  Fook knows. The Youtube plumbers (not Tom) started it - the likes of Plumberparts and PB Plumber. PB Plumber is the worst at it. His joints look as if they've never been near a blow torch, let alone solder. He uses Brasso on the pipes after soldering. Plumberparts was using fine grade wire wool on his pipes AFTER soldering, to pretty them up. Mad.
If the custards see this malarkey, they'll all be expecting it. With me, they'll get snots, and the only shiny bits will be the ends of the pipes hidden inside the fittings.

Funny you should say that I was working in a house a few weeks back in the airing cupboard and the pipes were painted silver, twat to get it off to solder, the house was about 3 yrs old. |

Yeah, I've seen a rise in joints so pretty that they probably leak, if it's hidden I snot up a joint something rotten, under floors, in walls etc. the more snot the better  Exposed I still get the odd snot but I feed from the back so it's usually hidden. I can say hand on heart that I've never soldered a bad joint except for one where I couldn't keep the water out of the pipe. |
