Good job
I’ve got a job to replace a kitchen sink but I cannot find one the same size. They’re either 10mm to long or 10mm to short. The width is spot on.
What do you think? Buy longer & cut worktop?
They also want me to use the same taps, I’ve told them if they come off ok then no problem but if not it’s a new tap & more money as I’ll need to go & buy them. They thought I was joking!

Never seen cups before, just like a top hat? I've never seen cups what's there purpose? You put tea in them They fill them with putty and it holds the tap central and also makes a water tight seal between tap and sink.

the thread on the tap tail does not go right to the top, so if you just used the brass washer, the tap would never be solid cos the brass nut runs out of thread, A plastic nut is thicker so it will get a better hold but is also prone to splitting, the top hat washer or cup gives the nut more thread to grip on,

Never seen cups before, just like a top hat? Think they go back years. My mum had a kitchen sink from the early 60s, and when I changed the original taps on it they had these cups underneath. Thankfully there wasn't any putty or other shit involved. Came straight off after several decades of use. Won't get quality like that again.

I think cups were prior to Top Hat Washers.
