Rothenberger olive spliter. images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/31g0adQOZRL._SY355_.jpgJust turned up today and already it's my favourite tool of 2018 and I've not even used it in anger yet, it slices through an olive effortlessly! I wish I'd bought it sooner, the last few months I've been changing all the valves from gate to lever in the risers of a massive hotel, normally I'd just swap the valves but the nuts are different threads. This tool would of been sped things up no end! I can't wait for the new year when we get the next phase of the refurb

Loving your deals you keep finding AJ, I don't think I'll be investing in the Black n Decker though, and for that reason I'm out...

Yes, AJ's bargains are great.
Wouldn't mind some BJ bargains as well though.

I've never had problems getting ancient olives off but not sure if I'm maybe kinking or scratching the pipe too much in the process . I've always used the bang it with adjustables sliding on the pipe method. Or if I don't have enough room I put some grips on an lightly twist the olive round (thats the method I'm not sure I should be using but it always works).

Your first method is ok, Dafty, but gripping an olive and twisting risks damaging the pipe. Treat yourself to a Monument olive puller. You'll wonder why you hadn't bought one years ago.
