Attachment DeletedAlready got a couple of pairs of footprints (before Tom sees this) but im using irwin grips at the moment theyre ok but they could be better, just wondering what high quality grips people have tried and what they thought of them which was best etc

yeah ive seen them on youtube they look good for undoing really seized nuts without rounding them or chewing them up

After the trouble i had getting some tap inserts out the other day i and having to borrow some bloody great grips from a mate im gonna have to invest in the really big set of irwin griplocks they have in mole valley (dont like having to borrow tools)

Here are the grips that I've used for the last 9 or 10 years and I would say it's the best grip combination I've ever had.
The yellow handled ones are Stanley and are German made. The blue handled ones are Channellock Griplock and are USA made.
I don't like the ones with thick handles and fancy gadgets attached to them. Good post because all Plumbers like a conversation about their grips.

I used a 2 foot breaker bar with a socket and the massive set of grips to hold the taps still, Tried to find a big set of footprints at the car boot today but there weren't many stalls as it was raining a bit

A pair of footprints like these could be what you needed cw They used to be just the job for the unions when I was fitting a lot of solid fuel boilers, but I don't use them very much these days. Quick question.....I lost the middle bolt out of them but I soon found something that fitted it! Can you guess what it was off? To the left is the socket/ratchet that I'm using for them tight tap inserts (maybe I should start a thread "Tappys Tools"
