A pair of footprints like these could be what you needed cw They used to be just the job for the unions when I was fitting a lot of solid fuel boilers, but I don't use them very much these days. Quick question.....I lost the middle bolt out of them but I soon found something that fitted it! Can you guess what it was off? To the left is the socket/ratchet that I'm using for them tight tap inserts (maybe I should start a thread "Tappys Tools" Toilet Doughnut coupling bolt is my first thought?

No it's not one of them, although it is from a bathroom fixture. Think of something older and stronger!
A spout bolt used to be the plumbers favourite item to use when the plumber lost the middle out of their footprints.
I did grind the edges down a bit to make it more circular.

Good price that for Irwin's.
I've just realised that the Stanley's in the link I posted above are not the ones I have, hence, I can't really recommend them. They seem to be very hard to find these days.

Tappy, Just to give everyone another clue here is a photo of the bolt that I've used to hold my large footprints together for many years. It's off a bathroom fixture?

I'm going to have to give it to you battle... it's the bolt that attaches the feet to the bath (taken off an old cast iron bath).
