Hello all
Before my woes with my radiators my gas man came to look at my boiler (failed gas valve) he advised a new boiler this year so my question is:
1. What’s a straight swap for a Baxi 105he
2. What boiler would you recommend re. The above
3. Pros and cons of the above

The gas valve as replaced as it wasn’t modulating, he spent 6 hours fixing various faults and charged £120 which I don’t think was too bad, he doesn’t fit anymore just repairs and recommended a replacement due to the age of boiler, I agree there is some charlatans out there but I would like to think he is one of the genuine ones. |

I've heard intergas are good, I've never fitted any myself but the lads all like them,

I've heard intergas are good, I've never fitted any myself but the lads all like them, j heard that too Tom, They are rock solid, never fitted one myself though as DPUller quite rightly stated ,they are heavly lumps!! I fit boilers 36kg in weight, much easier to lug upstairs, and if you shop around they now giving 10 year warranties on some combis( if you are a nervous nerris type) thats great peace of mind💪 |

The Intergas Rapid is a fantastically versitile Combi boiler, but heavy to install - but hey, there’s pros & cons with every boiler.
I generally strip off the EV, fan etc to lighten it a little, before hanging it on the wall. Being in my formative years, my cabber tossing days are a distant memory, if not a happy one.
Fortunately, with my job I get the opertunity to install lots of different manufacturers’ boilers & for versatility, reliability, controllability the Rapid has got to be one of my favourites👍👍

I think the Duotec 33 with a offset exhaust as an extra part is a direct replacement.

All depends on your budget. There are loads of boilers out there. Do your research. Personally I’d fix the Baxi

That’s a small budget. The boiler that you replace it with does the same job. Probs 2% more efficient if that
save your money is my advice. Good boiler. Put it on a service contract/ insurance

Put it on a service contract/ insurance 1500 for the boiler and extra for fitting, I’m definitely getting a service contract with the new one (when we get it) |
