In the day I tried a few, they were only just born some would do 3 holes, some would do ten, depending on material, then one day i saw a joiner using an auger through 4 inch timber, I was amazed, It was an ILu, formaly black n' decker bought by the germans and renamed, they renamed again shorly to Dewalt, I bought the Ilu and was made up with it, a 10mm chuck 2 batteries and a case, ยฃ300, At the time was a weeks wage, but I had to have it,
what was your first decent battery tool ?

I used to enjoy watching DIY Sunday QVC, I got sucked in and bought a 24v battery drill,it was massive! Equivalent to a concrete braker๐ if you left it in shed for ages it still had enough power to drill brick walls!

Mine was a black AEG cordless drill. It wasnt well balanced but it did the job. Unfortunately it got pinched. ๐คฌ
Lately Ive be using the aldi combo, 18volt hammer drill and 18volt impact driver. ยฃ99 for both with 2 batteries and fast charger. cant go wrong . Ive hung boilers and rads ,drilled showers and tiles etc. Great bit of clobber.

Mine was a black and decker pro, it was shite and I eventually found it worked better as a hammer.

My brother brought something similar and I think it was about 30v and it was a Nu-tool, took about 3 weeks to charge up
