Taps

Well last night I thought I'd check with water still on that I had everything ready to at least get the first screw/nut (I think its a screw?) encoutered under the plaster trim. Managed to get a 10mm socket spanner on it. BUT I noticed it was loose! So I tightened it needing a good few turns to get reasonably tight (not over tight). Once I'd done that the tap seems to have stopped dripping when closed. Couldn't believe it.

Plan to monitor and leave for now if fixed. At least I've got this thread to refer back to if I do need to get a cartridge in future.
