Yeah, that fit on 15mm pipe & take you to 10mm pipe What are you trying to do? Fitting new tap arriving this evening which has flexi tails that (I think) you can't remove. Some fancy "low pressure" Grohe tap that the wife wants but will still probably dribble water out. Oh well.

Do 3/8 tails fit on a 10mm compression? Worth remembering that one

Gentleman, the flexi with the 3/8” nut will fit onto a 15x10mm compression fitting, with the 10mm nut & olive removed. As the 10mm compress thread on the coupling is generally a 3/8’’ BSP Parallel thread. However & there’s always a fucking ‘however’, the face of the coupling is tapered(for the Olive), so, is sharper than a 15mm x 3/8”BSP male coupler. Over-tighten the flexi & the washer will be cut & piss out! A gentle nip up & you’ll be golden👍👍

Tap just arrived and it does indeed fit. But to Dick's esteemed and learned point I guess ideally one would use this and not the screwfix one: www.amazon.co.uk/Compression-Thread-European-Flexible-Adapters/dp/B00KBQ10XYOne of the pics even shows clearly the flat end of the thread. Now I've spent a fiver on two of the Screwyou ones I may as well use them. I guess if I was being ultra-cautious I could screw them home lose, turn the water on and then slowly nip up until the trickle stops? I'm only dealing without about 0.2 bar so hopefully should be ok....

another feather in the cap of the brew cabin, If you took this problem to screwfix, their ' experts' would have three pages of reasons why, you need to call a plumber in, use copper, solder it only and get certificates and warrantee's to show the queen when she calls to inspect it, well done dafty

HAHA - even though a dafty, I was wondering about filing it a bit. Think I'll do that just to take the edge off it so to speak.

Don't forget, instead of filing the taper down, you can get tap tail adaptors. One end goes into the 15mm compression end of either a coupler or the end of isolation valve. The other end has a thread to screw the flexi tail onto. Available in either 3/8 or 1/2" threads from Toolstation or Screwfix.

And hello to all. Have been a bit absent. Been away for few weeks (not HMP ) Tried to post on here while away, but for some reason it wouldn't let me from a foreign country. Hope I haven't missed anything!

Hope I haven't missed anything! Cheers for that and shame I didn't see it before I bought my connectors. OF course I could return 'em but I live an hour's round trip away so I'll probably just get on with what I've got. WIll know next time and so will anyone who reads this thread in the future !

Right well this is why I call myself a Dafty. It doesn't fit !!
Ok I'd had a couple of beers last night when I checked but I dunno what happened really but this morning it doesn't fit! The 3/8 tail nut is too big for that coupler.
I'm off to Toolstation to get the ones Woody recommended.
