Question is though will all that flux have gone right threough the tap and cartridge and would it be restricting flow or should it flush through? Was this tap: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00WBIH962If it's just flux, Dafty, it will eventually dissolve - as said above. Being on the hot side, will help disperse it.
And can I commend you on your choice of tap. You obviously appreciate quality and are a man of impeccable taste. Just like me, because I have those same taps in my gaff.
Grohe taps are so good, you'll be handing them down to your grandchildren.
I have Swirl taps and I'll be handing them down to the scrap man very soon

Maybe you could put them out for recycling, next to the Silverline tools.

Silverline will always stand alone as the shittiest of the shittist. Funny you say that Rocky but I'd stayed quite about buying the basin spanner Mr Puller recommended some time ago. It comes with 4 or 5 sockets but guess what they don't even fit the fucking main tool !! Lucky for me without any sockets in it runs at (was it 13mm?) and that was exactly the size of my Grohe back nut.

The main problem with those taps is the design of the spout; after a short while the water starts to run down the stem totally unnoticed by the user who thinks the tap is fully off. The water finds it's way off the bath edge onto the floor and eventually through the ceiling and the customer thinks a pipe is leaking. I've seen this happen many times, however, as a plumbers should we be complaining? After all it gives us a job Tappy,

If you mean the Silverline monobloc tap’s spanner Dafty? It was recommended by someone else I think? However, it’s currently. undergoing Field Trials on Sites in & around Glasgow, but amazingly, so far so good??!!! 😟😟😟

I think my monobloc spanners are silverline, had them years, the tommy bar broke early on, but a screwdriver or stubby works fine. I also have a silicone scraper from toolstation, didn't say silverline in the book but came in a silverline bag, to be fair it's not awful.

Maybe just typical "precision tooling" from Silverline and need a hammer to whack into place
