Hello Everyone
I'm back to look at my mixer tap that hasn't been shutting off properly. I wanted to get the cartridge out so I could be 100% sure I'm getting the right one.
Anyway, I removed the nut at the top, removed shroud etc and then was left with what is in the picture. The plastic bit doesn't seem to unscrew or pull out.
Any ideas on how to get the cartridge out from here?

Looks a weird one that Dafty its like the cartridge has seperated, will it not come out? I carry a Makita toolbox full of tap cartridges and I don't recognise that one.

Thanks WF. I did think after posting maybe the cartridge itself has come apart. The bit on the right is the rocker at the top.
So maybe it can be persuaded to come out ?

Yes, the pegs may be stuck in. Do you have a new cartridge standing by? Screwfix do one or two.

Looks broken. You could try 2 screw drivers against the inner grooves, push them anticlockwise against each other, one on the left and one on the right and use the inner grooves to push?

RIght thanks a lot for help so far.
I will do what cinders suggests but does it normally prize out or screw out or could be both? Just so I understand where to apply force.
Also if I don't have one standing by, could I still refit the old until new one arrives?

New tap
That’s look fucked
Get a decent make & you can usually get spares easily
I don’t screw about with trying to fix taps unless I can find the make & preferably the model.
I tell customers that too - unless they’re willing to pay me to screw around looking with trial & error
A new tap usually works out cheaper

Not sure DD. If it is a screw off it wouldn't need huge amount of convincing. Maybe wait til the others on here pitch in

I'm going to try everything to fix it first because its a bath tap in the far corner so I think I'd need to replace tiles to get bath out if I had to do that.
I'll have another go later and/or see if anyone else has an idea.
