Nightmare! How old is it? Even if you get the cartridge out, will there be one anywhere.
Of course Bearwood would use a hole saw big enough to get his fist in under the tap and then glue the bath patch back on after!!

The joys of plumbing Luckily, sledge hammers are rare in the toolbox because sometimes you feel like using one!!

I had a mixer tap once on the back edge of the bath, tiled panel, a right oddball motherfucker and the cartridge collapsed and was a full gusher when I tried to fit it back in, to get the water back on I had to cut a 50p size bit of rubber from my sheet and whittle down some wood the same size as the cartridge and tighten it down with the nut to block the flow to enable me to do my runner...er I mean order the right one.

it sure does, that looks like a 'bath out' situation to me, I'd not walk away though, I'd fuckin run Me too It all looks great on installation but at times like these the traditional bath tap location wins Good luck DD Try your best to sort it. Pisser

Are those walls solid? If not, is there any chance of accessing that tap from the room to the left of it? Would cause a big mess in a different room but the bath wouldn't have to move. Plasterboard is easily removed and replaced and patched up.

It's a standard mono cartridge, it's just come apart, get some pliers on there and pull it out, it doesn't unscrew it should just lift out but can get a bit stuck. You'll need the top part of it back on to make sure you get the right replacement. Merchants and the sheds only stock a few different ones so you may end up having to find it online, but you could be lucky and one of the £5 ones from poofix might fit.

Wow thanks for all the really good replies especially to Battle and JCPlumb.
Battle: I can't seem to get your link to work. Do you have a model make or number? I'll go up later and confirm measurements.
Everyone: If I pull out what's left of the cartridge to take measurements am I likely to get it back in for a couple of days while I source another?

DD look at the two PDF. Links first the third link needs you to do a selection option for bath taps then bath tap shower etc to reach this Attachment Deleted

Right got it out. Thanks a lot for that!! That is definitely it but £62 PLUS vat ? bloody hell... Looks like its not standard ? At least to my Dafty eyes it looks very different to the screwfix ones. I'll see if I can find the same on anywhere else..... In the meantime, I nominate Battle for Brewcabin Plumber of the Year ! Edit: Top is got lots of grease on it. I'm, wondering maybe soak the bottom half in vinegar to clean it up and see if that helps that water not shutting off? Mind you, I've probably fked it now. I'll do some shopping....

I've left them soaking in bicarbonate soda and it does improve them but new means high reliability.
You'll find the part cheaper it just needs a bit hunting around DD.

Subtle differences in the product code there but the pic for the first one you linked to : A953190NU
looks closest at the bottom to me. Its also the most expensive.
Oh well at least I've now got a load of options to chose from.
Thanks a lot (once again) for your help Battle !!!!
