I used that toolstation one & yes I had to solder a bit of pipe on.
The next time I was with my mate & soldered a bit on first, my mate looked confused, yes, I had to cut it off that time

personally, I don't like those toolstation pipe/adaptors, that flange is too small so you cannot get a good fixing in the wall,
Yes, Tom that can be a problem with those tube wall plates. especially if you've been a bit cack-handed with the SDS and blown a bit of the brickwork around the hole.

Or you're dealing with dashed outside walls.........lovely.....not.

I like Wall Plate Elbows, as Tom said you’re more certain it’ll drain in the winter. However, I’ve ordered some of these, just solder a bit of tube in👍 www.monsterplumb.co.uk/wall-plate-flange-inch-halfGood prices @ monster for WP elbows too £18 for the tap???!! The morons around here charge £30 for the whole job!!

Oh, another wee point, I use Loctite 55 or similar thread sealing string on the Tap thread. Easier alinement & less chance of splitting the WP elbow👍

Not had a wall plate split, Dick. You don't know your own strength. Must be all those years you spent tossing
cabers.
I'm also much too tight for Loctite. PTFE all the way!

Looks like you get a fair length for the money, Dick. Same size Loctite 55 over a tenner.
Not cheap enough to tempt this cheapskate away from his roll of PTFE though.

If you run out of loctite would tooth floss work?
Not that I carry floss with me but the custard might have some if you raid the bathroom.

I know something that will, cotton, I worked for a while for a tight twat sprinkler fitter, We were fitting sprinklers in the mills around the northwest and because big reels of cotton were superfluous in the mills, he filled his van and stores and, used it on every job, I also did a video using chewing gum, that works too,

I've split a back plate elbow or two, once you go past the point you want the tap upright, you either go another turn or, unscrew and repack with ptfe, if you go the extra turn, you get that, shall I or shant I moment just before the, Ahh moment, Russian roulette,

I've been there once or twice before and my local independent plumbers merchant once gave me a few plastic spacers to use. Was a few years ago and can't remember if I used them but think I did.
The whole thing seems like a terrible design. Why isn't there a simple nut on the end that you tighten like there is on most other stuff I can think off.
