Cheers Depending on what Generation, the Heat Link is the ‘receiver’ unit - it’s hard wired. The Thermostat normally needs a 12v DC supply, which can be from the Heat Link or from a plug in wall socket charger & flex.

I’ve watched a couple of videos I’ve got it! The wall mount needs two wires that are then connected to the heat link which is where it gets it power from. That’s what confused me. I thought the wall mount needed a 230v power supply. So all I need is 2 core from the loft/heat link location to the nest thermostat location then I wire the heat link up for an s plan system Sorted, should be simple. Cheers.

I installed mine (first generation) but my input here is as a user of it.
It looks nice but I had to turn off all the "intelligent" self-learning type of stuff. Theres loads of different options in the settings that are on by default. It tries to learn the pattern of your heating and then decide for itself when to switch it on and off.
In my opinion, cutting edge neural network learning (which is what is uses) is nowhere near as good as a real person. It might get it right 95% of the time, but we had it randomly going on in the middle of the night etc until I turned all the nonsense off. HAving said that, maybe if you're always in and out of the house at the same times without any exceptions it might work ok for you.
Once I turned all that stuff off it works fine and yes I can adjust outside the house if I feel the urge....

I know Tom it’s a load of bollox for a simple RF thermostat.
I always say to Olive ‘Get your coat luv, I’m going down the Pub’.
‘Oh, am I coming too’?
‘No, I’m turning the heating off’!!!

Perhaps a future contender for the museum of "seemingly good ideas in plumbing (at the time)"?
