My Son who lives in Canada where the temp falls to -30 on a regular basis over winter, shelled out this year for air source heating/air conditioning , Its changed his life overnight, its -10 at the moment on the outside and 20 degrees in his home all day long, its using about the same energy as his fridge does, because, thats what it is, a fridge in reverse, there are 2 blowers and you don't feel any heat from it but, its circulating the air round the house and as long as all the doors are open, all the rooms get warm, The only problem they have now, is leaning to sleep in the winter at 20 degrees,

Warm Air Heating is common in North America, they build houses incorporating that system. They generally have a Basement & Attic, so it’s easier to run all the ducts etc. A 22mm Pipe will carry as much heat as a 300x300mm square Warm Air Duct. Warm Air is getting more & more unpopular in N America, it’s a dry heat & uncomfortable. Not many places still with WA Gas Systems here.
But hey Tom, HP’s are ideal for WA, where the unit pumps out air at 20-25DegreesC, where we expect very warm radiators.
We Brits have a Fire Side mentality, if it ain’t roasting hot it’s not going to heat us!!!
