Anyone know of a good click clack waste for a basin that doesn't break within a couple of months. What's your go to click clack waste? Many thanks

I've tended to buy Rak and like their stuff but not a plumber so don't see so much to compare it to. I have broken a click clack a few weeks ago but found a video somewhere of someone showing how to repair them.

Have been known to have poor water retention but they are easy to fit but I found nothing seems up for the job these days except the good old rubber plug.

Fitted a new basin for my brother a few years ago and made the mistake of fitting the waste that came with it. It was junk and lasted 14 months. Fitted the McAlpine one in aj's post and no problems after approx 4 years now.
Agree with Battle though. We've over complicated things now and people want stuff that looks good but often isn't very durable or practical.

Cleared a very nasty blocked one in Puller Towers on Saturday, Stripped it down, plenty hot water on it if itโs jammed & itโll work a treat๐๐
Bristan brassware is commonly used on New Builds, fairly good quality & they work well. Though I generally just buy the cheapest from eBay & had little problem.

Didn't know you could get new mechanisms, PB. Do you find that they fit most wastes?

Never had a problem yet woody with them not fitting. I normally buy a pack of 10 and you get the sealing rubbers too. Attachment Deleted
