You may need to fit a Potable Water Breaker Tank in your Loft Tom?? The Upstream Flow Rate maybe too slow?? Or your incoming supply pipe half blocked with the Water Board’s shit?!

On the last water regs course that ever I did the tutor told us that the water board have to guarantee a minimum pressure of 1bar to their customers, however, if any customers ever take this route of complaint the crafty buggers will come out at 4:00am in the morning (when the main is at it's highest pressure) and do the test then!

the problem at my house is, in 2008 they renewed the old iron supply with a new plastic pipe but somewhere underground I believe its kinked because my supply is 1 bar with a deliverance of 9 litres But as Tappy says, they come and measure off peak, So I can't prove my theory and they won't dig up anywhere look so, I'm stuck with poor pressure and hoping this pump improves things, As for a break tank Dick, That is an interesting complication and i will give that due consideration following what happens after the pump is fitted which is scheduled for tomorrow all being well, A video will be published with a fore and after conclusion, keep tuned in for the results

The firm that I used to work for won a maintenance contract on a new built nursing home and the gaffer was showing us around the building. It had been assessed that the water mains was not up to the job of providing a reasonable water pressure to the units so a huge mains holding tank had been fitted in the cellar boiler house and the water would be then pumped onwards into the units. With the temperature in the boiler house being around plus 30 degrees in winter I thought to myself this is a legionella accident in the making and how could this be missed by powers that be considering one of the first jobs we would get to do was to needlessly replace all the flexi tap connectors because a tiny amount of legionella could live in them!
After tom getting rid of his mains storage tank many years ago I don't think it would be a good idea to fit a new one.

The other alternative, which doesn’t need a Pump is an Accumulator.

Far from me, a lowly DIYer and a Dafty at that to suggest tips to the greatest provider of plumber's tips in the UK BUT is the power to the pump on and is it running during that test?

yes it is dafty. It can be heard kicking in so, My theory is that that pump is only capable of boosting none pressurized water, as in a tank, i've got 9 litres per minute at the tap,so the pump cannot improve it so. i'm gonna take it off and use it in the garden to irrigate the plants, hey hoe,,

I was thinking of accumulator as well Dick so, Thats the next project,

Thing is Tom, (as you mentioned earlier in this thread) if you suspect that the poly pipe coming to your property has been kinked at any point, then a pump is going to struggle to pull any extra water through 😉😉

Yes John thats a valid point and also another reason why an accumulator would be the answer because, It would build pressure up on my side of the kink, I'll put a check valve down stream and hopeful improve things, to be continued

What’s the pressure & flow like in the neighbours house Tom??
Can you Post up a link for the Pump Tom?.......There’s clearly some fancy controls going on with it. My guess is it’s working on Pulse Width Modulation. I’d be tempered to try the Pump off a barrel in the Garden, see what kind of pressure & flow rate it produces.
Did you try another tap when you had the Pump connected? Flexi hoses can really restrict flow, as you know.

Yes Dick it has a sensor to stop/go with the flow and , today I found out that. I had't turned the water on fully so now we have this
