You’ve a Level in your pocket! If you have an IPhone with the compass app, flick left & you have a level!

Here’s another one; Im old Skool me, I use Boss White on all my compression joints, but it can be messy & get on your clothes etc. So, the next time you finish a tube of silicone, cut about 70mm off the end(not the nozzle end), push the plunger out & clean the tube out. Then fill with Boss White or whatever you use, new nozzle on the tube & you’re ready to Rock!!
its a lot easier using a silicone gun to apply Boss White on fittings than your finger & cleaner!!👍👍

I love boss white too, but never throw the tin in your toolbag, if the lids not quite full home, the stuff runs out and covers everything, the smell lingers forever,

If you fook up fitting bath panel, or floor is uneven, and it's Friday, you can slice bottom lip off bath panel, screew panel into place at bottom near were you cut lip off .then run cloak profile trim(wicks sell it) over cut part to hide screews & cut. You can silicone it or screew it on using white dome cap covers, looks nice and neat when finished. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Whatever you do, don't get Boss White on the front of your dark work trousers. Looks a little suspicious - as if you have been, er, enjoying yourself. sad 1

Was out with the missus one day, and a pigeon landed a fresh one right on her head. She said "quick, get a tissue!" I replied "don't be so bloody stupid woman - it'll be miles away by now."

One small, simple tip which some on here might already do concerns new taps - especially separate bath, basin or pillar sink taps. Don't know if it's just me getting weak, but I reckon they employ a gorilla (probably with a monkey wrench ) to tighten down the main headgear/valve onto the body of the taps at the factory. Some time after the new taps have been fitted, you or someone may need to service or re-washer the tap. Then you find out that the factory tightened down the valve so hard that it's extremely difficult to undo in situ.
So, my 'top tip' is just before you fit new taps, crack the valve open with long spanner and re-tighten to a sensible torque. It's much easier to loosen a very tight valve with it placed on the floor under your foot to hold it down, than trying it in a basin when all the tap wants to do is spin in it's hole.
