It looks to me (from the second image) that he's connected both sides of the pumps together eg hot to cold, as I can only see two grey pipes leaving the pump flexi's?
Question :- one grey pipe has shower written on it what's the other one say please?

It's an installation only Bearwood Brown would be proud of.

The hot should be off a Essex flange from cylinder.cold should be from storage tank.

Mind those images are tricky to deal with - He's connected into the central heating circuit on to the shower pump.

Why can't I see where two of the flexi's go to off the pump - I can see two connect onto grey pipe but where's other two go and is the pump in a different room?
