I just watched a video
Yes. Good idea
The bloke then soldered with the thing in situ
Wouldn’t the rubber melt?
If not, why does the rubber in a drain valve melt?
I like them but would be nervous.

If the firms buying I would have one and hay love using it!
However, if it me that's buying it's to expensive as I'm not looking for production or a time in motion bonus, I just price the job with the problems I expect - some I win and some I loose but more often than not I win?

The idea comes from the states where they generally solder every fitting, compression fittings aren't popular over there. The rubber won't melt because you'd only use it where water is present.

When you think about it, it's just threaded bar with washers and a nut,10mm cooper sleeve and buy the rubber for £10. Ummm got me thinking 😎😎😎

It's only like stuffing bread down the pipe to soak up the excess water, it's a gadget nothing new, it'd work OK only if the conditions are right. If it's the final connection joint you're trying to solder up then how do you get it back out?
Another future contender for the museum of "seemingly good plumbing gadgets", me thinks.

The Yankees use Sure Sweat capsules. Same Idea as bread, but won't clog. You stuff one up the pipe to stop the water so you can solder. After soldering, I believe you warm the area of pipe with the Sure Sweat inside and it starts dissolving the capsule.
