Nirrad are well cheeky for what they charge for these! We could put them out of business with these👍👍👍😂😂 My local suppliers had the seals so I thought I'd make some, I'll never use them probably, fun to make though mate I love it when a plan comes together

Horizontal wet pipes in the loft yesterday. I managed to open one end but still whenever I put a flame on the pipe, steam came out. Had what turned out to be a good idea. I took a very wet not quite dripping old t-shirt and wrapped it around a long section of the pipe away from where I was soldering. Theory was it would stop the pipe heating up further away where the water was. It bloody worked too ! Water is such a good conducter of heat so that when it's present it makes the soldering of joints very difficult. By wrapping the pipe in the wet T shirt it would have allowed the joint to heat up to a higher temperature (as less heat will now escape from it up the pipe) and hopefully enable you enough time for it to be soldered up. Good thinking DD and I've never thought of trying this one in over 40 years of plumbing. NB. What I normally try is to heat up a different section of pipe (like where you wrapped the T shirt) until it's HOT then quickly go back to the joint and hopefully you'll have bought just enough time to solder the joint by evaporating the water in your T shirt section. Almost your method in reverse !

They look great PB, can you list the components, sizes & suppliers please? The stainless threaded bar, stud nuts and dome nuts, washers are all from toolstation and are M6 8mm aluminium tube 1m long from Wickes ( thick walled so very strong)
I got the 15mm and 22mm seals from my local merchants but I know BES sell them Dickie - if you want any links let me know

What is the chance of tomplum doing a "how to" video and test of pb and endfeed's inventions with where to get the stuff and how much ? For all the DIYers and plumbers alike across the world who would surely benefit from this ? (Crediting the Inventors obvisouly)

Wow - how's that for service? Bloody amazing job I would say and you got the rubber washer fitting quite snuggly with a just a knife. Stop cycling and go back to plumbing ! HAHA
But sorry to delay you fixing your puncture which you will no doubt do in minutes and without wasting money on a new inner tube...
The amount of trouble I have with water in pipes I might just make one too. Loads of crap in my garage - maybe the old bath feet if I can find a thick washer...

you got me pinned Dafty, I do buy new inner tubes from the £1 shop but, I do not bin them when puntured, I fix them and put them back on the shelf so I re cycle them,
