In the eighties plastic kitchen taps were fitted in Council houses all over Wigan, they've all been replaced now because , there were total shite, I cannot believe they still are in use,  |

I've tried again today to make this work, I cut steelwool ( good clean stuff) with a pair of scissors , dead fine into a tin box with powerful magnets attached, the fine bits of steel went straight to the magnets, then i threw the bits of wool at a plasterboard with screws fixing some timber but, the bits of wool fell straight to the floor, a complete failure, I'm going to have to mark this down as a myth Buster and, proven,,,,,,,,,unless you can redeem it as a void judgment, Until such time you are still on full pay at the same rank and entitled to the usual fringe benefits and exp's, But, Stay in the country your passport is hereby suspended,  My guess is that the steel wool gets magnetised when you rub it together, cutting it won't magnetise it. I'll try this next time I need to find a stud and report back, although I do have a few neodymium magnets in my kit which work well too. |

Everyone probably knows this already but I had to use it the other day.... When there's no drain off for the heating, the washing machine hose comes in handy on the older rad valves👍👍  |

As a seasoned House Basher & highly respected artisan, I was somewhat amazed at most of my Work Colleges didn’t know this???!!!
As everyone knows New Builds are full of Pushfit Plastic Pipe & a good set of Plastic Pipe cutters are essential:
If your pipe cutters are losing their sharpness & doing more pipe crushing than cutting, a little Silicon Lube on either side on the blade will make them cut like a hot knife through Butter!!!
However, this is not as successful on the Rat Shit type cutters.

Nice 1 dicky, speaking of uses for silicon lube, I always keep a pack of spare blades for pipe slice around the place. On a rainy day you can disassemble, clean, new blade and a dab of silicone grease on the rollers. Good as new. (This comes to mind today as yesterday I was in the tightest crawl space ever, stretched out at full length in the dark and the dust, lying on broken bricks and shards of tile trying to cut a pipe and i hadn't noticed how blunt the pipslece was. I was swearing as it took forever to cut. Keep 'em sharp lads!) Attachments:

As someone who’s been stuck in lofts & under floors many a time looking for Pipes & cables. I thought this was a fantastic idea & well demonstrated by this guy;

those coat hangers made a great car Arial too, When some twat bend yours off just for spite, You just straightened the hook out and it would fit inside the the broken arial and worked just as well,  |
