and dont forget to add ' fairy liquid' or any other washing up liquid, It does the job, it changes the waters PH make up, to check this out, go to your kitchen sink put the plug in the waste and turn the cold water on at hight, Listen to it,,,,then put some washing up liquid in, then note the sound change,,You have instantly softened the water, That'd save me a few quid on 2 bottles of X100 ! Honestly, would you say putting in a couple of litres of (lets say Tesco's own brand) washing up liquid would be almost as good as a purposely made product? I might just try it next time.... Nah ya want Fairy Liquid. The acknowledged market leader. ( also keeps your hands as soft as your face) ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

For annual boiler services, youโre now required to check the system water & add more inhibitors if required. A Scam really, just to sell more chemicals.
I had a 3 Bed house, I put Gas Fired Central Heating in it over 20Years ago. Combi boiler & 7 radiators. After 20 years with no Inhibitor in the system, the water was as clean as a whistle, Ph level & everything! But it rarely got topped up with water & there was no alteration to the system.
Chemicals like inhibitors, lose their strength & once you start using them youโve gotta carry on using them. Back in the days of Vented systems, weโd stick a Gallon of MB1 in the expansion tank & the system water would stink when you altered anything.
These days on New Builds, we Hot & Cold Water Flush the new Systems(Combi boilers/sealed systems), then add .5Ltr of Fernox F1. The system water will stay clean for years, but pound to a penny, whoever services the boiler will be topping up the inhibitor.
